We will come to pick you up near / near your accomodation, hotel, port between 8:30/9:00

Arrive at Rifugio Sapienza at 1900mt. (cable car ticket/jeep not included). The summit craters represent the area of the volcanic activity where there is a persistent fumaroles activity, are the site of explosive events of various types as: strombolian activities, fountains of lava, phreatic activities that continually change the morphology of the volcano.

The ascent is by cable car and jeep up to 2900 mt (Torre del Filosofo), for there on foot towards the crater formed during the eruption of 2002/03. Accompanied by Alpine Vulcanological Guides.

This excursion will take you all the way up to the summit (3.000 m), at the base of the main craters, in a majestic volcanic desert where silence fills up the space around you. We will visit the Crateri Barbagallo originated during the big eruption of 2002. At this altitude you will be able to enjoy the fascinating landscape that only Mount Etna can offer.

During the tour you will see different ancient lava flow (1991/1993). A pleasure interlude at an beekeeping family-run business and its honey-extracting lab to taste a selection of honey, wines, olive oil and other typical Etna produce.
