A perfect place
for your Mind
A jump into the past between history and myth, an exciting experience to Syracuse, the most powerful colony in the Mediterranean during the Greek period.
We will start our daily adventure by visiting the archeological park, the Neapolis, which includes the most important monuments of the Greek and Roman age, such as The Greek theater, the Latomia del Paradiso, the Ear of Dionysius, the Roman amphitheater.
Afterwards we will move toOrtigia, also known as Citta Vecchia, the old city of Siracusa, an islet separated by small bridges to the modern city, well-known for the ruins of the earliest Greek constructions, in plain sight the Temple of Apollo, but the greatest and most singular monument is the Dome which rises on the highest point of the peninsula, not less important, in Ortigia is the Fountain of Arethusa, a freshwater spring forming a pool with papyrus plants, situated on a wide terrace overlooking the sea.
After a stop for lunch we will continue our tour to visit the baroque jewel of eastern Sicily, Noto, a World Heritage Site, along with other sites located in the Val di Noto.
Built after the terrible earthquake of 1689, Noto is also known as "the stone garden".
The reconstruction after the earthquake was the symbol of the rebirth of these places, evident in the wonderful baroque architecture of its palaces and churches. All this gave Noto the title of Baroque capital of Sicily.
